As a long-time Kansas City resident, I love finding locally owned businesses to support while keeping a healthy lifestyle. Whether directly promoting health or actively participating in health-conscious practices, I’ve started collecting these businesses to share with others.
Here’s my always-growing list of local spots that I love!
Fresh Produce
Redfearn Farm – Kansas City CSA & Local Farm
I get a weekly Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box from this local farm. My pick up location is the OP Farmers Market — which is great, because I visit the Farmers Market often!
What I love about it:

- makes seasonal eating organically happen.
- pick up place is convenient; I can pick up other things at the Farmers Market if I need to.
The Redfearn Farm website has a lot to offer: a free cookbook, a private Facebook community, and an amazing story about the farming family. While you’re visiting their website, check out the Kanas City CSA blog! With amazing tips on storing and delicious recipes for seasonal veggies, there is SO MUCH value given out by local farmers.
Health and Fitness
Maya Yoga
Kansas City has many great yoga teachers. But my current favorite is Kim’s Monday Mysore Practice at Maya Yoga.
What I love about it:

- It fits my schedule, which is rare because I’m usually teaching or working with a client during class times.
- I’ve taught with Kim in the past. I love and respect her teachings. As a teacher, I’m also always a student. I learn a lot from Kim.
- I get adjusted! Yeah! I know how much my students love adjustments I provide and I get it in return in Kim’s class.
Local Eats and Drinks
Hattie’s Fine Coffee
When I’m in between clients and need a little boost, Hattie’s is a favorite! Great coffee and wonderful staff. The staff is friendly and caring to their customers and to each other. I love watching the laughter and camaraderie. This quaint coffee shop makes you feel a part of the community!

Pink Pest Solutions is owned by Emily, an Associate Certified Entomologist with years of executive experience in corporate pest control. I was so happy with their pest control services to my home and with the company overall.
What I love about them:

Emily has a super informative blog on the Pink Pest Solutions website, with tons of DIY pest control tips to keep out those pesky house bugs, like ants, termites, and stink bugs. This is a great local resource and company for pest control services!
